In addition to established mission works, the Presbytery of Southern California is also assisting several developing works that have not yet received formal mission work status but are already gathering for regular Lord’s Day worship. These groups represent the earliest stage of church planting, where a small congregation begins meeting around the preaching of the Word, prayer, and fellowship while the presbytery evaluates the long-term viability of the work. Our desire is to encourage and support these developing congregations as they grow in spiritual health, leadership, and stability, with the hope that, in time, they may be recognized as mission works and eventually organized as particular churches.
